Hey Farm Barn is a contemporary holiday cottage barn conversion. The interior designer space is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful Yorkshire landscape. A good sized entrance porch leads into an open plan lounge and dining area with a large arched window overlooking the front courtyard. Original beams, wooden floor and high ceilings create a light and airy space. The lounge area features a wood-burning stove (first basket of logs supplied, more available), comfy sofa and armchairs, TV, DVD and music system, along with dining table and chairs. Central heating is provided by an air source heat pump.

A fully fitted kitchen, with ceramic electric hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave, is accessed from the living area. The bright and spacious bathroom is located on the ground floor and includes washbasin, bath with shower and W.C. . The bedroom is accessed via a staircase from the living area and is located on a stunning mezzanine level above the living area. This includes a king size bed, wardrobe space and a dressing table with hairdryer.

A washer dryer is situated in the utility area. A door from the living area leads onto a very pretty, south facing patio with garden furniture and BBQ, overlooking a garden, enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding village and moors beyond. A perfect place to savour a glass of wine or cup of tea and Sunday paper (weather permitting!)

Wifi is available at Hey Farm Barn. Parking for two cars is in the courtyard to the side of the cottage and there is secure storage for bikes.

Unfortunately Hey Farm Barn is not suitable for dogs or other pets.

Marsden is next to the National Trust Estate, so you can step out of the door and be on the Moor within minutes, no need for a car or to worry about parking. Numerous routes are available for all types of walkers, including the Pennine Way and the Colne Valley Circular.

Please visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk for full information on the walks available which also include organised walks, with a guide, all year round. The NT Estate, covering nearly 2429ha (5685 acres) of unenclosed common moorland almost surrounding the village of Marsden, takes in the northern part of the Peak District National Park, with valleys, reservoirs, peaks and crags, as well as archaeological remains dating from pre-Roman times to the great engineering structures of the canal and railway ages. The landscape supports large numbers of moorland birds such as the golden plover, red grouse, curlew and diminutive twite. The estate is a designated SSSI forming part of an international Special Protection Area and is a candidate Special Area of Conservation. At the National Trust Estate office, at the Old Goods Yard next to the Railway Station, is the ‘Welcome to Marsden’ exhibition, giving a good insight into the area.

Horse riding is available at the local stables.
